A 2-night canoe trip to Clydegale Lake in Algonquin Park in late September. We stopped at waterfalls, hiked Booth Rock Trail and Lookout Trail, had zero degree weather overnight, and saw 5 moose on our last day!

Glad you caught the moonrise/sunset evening while out there... this is quality canoe time out in a lake (eg. inset avatar photo on the left) or a campsite with E/W views. Usually the moonrise seems colder-toned than in your photo, maybe the sunset light was still lighting up the lower atmosphere and the earth's shadow hadn't yet shown up (Venus' girdle). Nice pix and description.

Thanks! Campsites that are open/exposed and get both east and west views are always at the top of my list. Watching the sunset, sunrise, and stargazing are my favorite things to do out there. And to be honest the moonrise looked a lot different in person than it does in the picture... I find my iPhone is really bad at capturing low light shots.
