My $0.02 - I have not paddled the Fraser but I have traveled along some of it a number of times while traveling to BC and back. Thoughts: Much of the Fraser between Vancouver and Hope might be do-able but there appears to be significant current throughout and riffles/rapids where the current will be stronger.
Above Hope you will encounter the Fraser Canyon. From the road, much of this looks impossible to paddle. Some parts look impossible to paddle downstream. In some parts there is no possibility to go along the shore. There is probably a reason that Mike Ranta left the Fraser at Hope.
Skip to the last part above Tete Jaune Cache - some waterfalls, mostly very fast water punctuated by rapids with faster water. Rough, rocky, treed shore.
I have seen parts of the Fraser after Lillooet and my memory of those parts is some slower sections, some sections with fast water and some rapids.
As far as time goes, I have no idea but I believe that you would be portaging a lot.
Good luck.
I have driven much of it too. I know there are some really nasty areas.
