I am planning a trip down the Dumoine in June and wanted to start at Lac Dix Miles. I am looking into transportation options. There are 2 road shuttle services that look good, but one of the operators said that he did not know if the road would be passable. The float plane options do not seem to exist any more - I am doubtful that any mentioned in very old posts in this forum are still in business. Does anybody have any air shuttle suggestions? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Air Swisha is gone. I dont think there is a float plane base in Swisha any more.

The road to Lac Dix Miles is brutal. It will probably take you all of 4 hours to go less than 100km. I would not drive my own vehicle up that road. While it is rough the Quebec government does repair it when needed. Locally they also do road maintenance twice a year. Basically a bulldozer and a backhoe to make it passable.

There are lots of hunt camps along the way and there is a lodge at Lac Dix Miles that needs to stay accessible. So one way or another I bet they will find a way to keep that road open.

We used Etienne at Dumoine Vallee Guides for the shuttle. He was great.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I have verified Air Swisha is no more. (called the local chamber of commerce). @MartinG, it was Etienne that told me that he may not be able to traverse the road in June.
