Thanks guys,

My wife has added her solar powered Christmas lights for the interior. Since she has willingly tagged along for 37 years I figure it's a small price to pay.

Bring on the back flies!

As an FYI -

Due to a Cabela's gift cert I had for a year I did purchase their telescoping 8' poles for my No Bug Zone. They are pretty sturdy. with some corresponding weight.

I just seem to come across these sites from time to time where I want my tarp.....over there!!

I went with the No Bug Zone. Have not used it yet but I have ordered a compression sack for it. Will be able to experiment soon.

Hi Viking, I picked up the Nobugzone this morning. Which compression kit did you purchase for it? Look forward to trying it out this spring

Hey Mike,

I got a 15 liter Outdoor Research compression sack. I think the size will work just fine.

I may have to set it up in my dining room - getting a bit antsy to use this thing.

Went and got an RTIC 20 cooler as well. Looking forward to the first base-camp trip in the ADK's this spring!

Viking

Does anyone have any updated comments after using their NoBugZone for a full season? I have the last one at a local shop on hold until tomorrow (Clearance price!)

Thanks Buoys and Grills.

Next to a canoe, it's the best thing you can buy I think.

I have used mine in two extremes. Canada Day weekend with temps of 30+ and mosquito and black fly infested HHWT. That weekend was repeat trips of getting out of my hammock (in the No Bug Zone) to dip in the lake clothed then back. Also decided to try it as a winter hammock tarp. was just about big enough to offer sidewalls and doors with no mesh on. So I guess that is the old version when you could have with/without.

I ordered mine from my local scout shop and love it. I opted for the VSC 13 tarp and mesh room. If it were do do it again I’d probably get the larger size. A little more bulkier to pack but more room when setup.

This thing is the stuff outdoor dreams are made of.

My wife is great at dealing with adverse conditions like cold, heat, etc. but the bugs were a deal-breaker. Now she is more than happy to come out on those spring trips where in the past we have packed up early due to horrible insect activity.

Some folks use these as their primary shelter. On base camping trips I bring a tent and the NBZ and for some reason thoroughly enjoy re-arranging my camp furniture in the shelter. My wife called me Martha Stewart.

While on a trip to Little Tupper in the ADK's I watched as my 20 year old Kelty tent slowly dissolved as that octopus thing the poles go into disintegrated. No problem - just moved into the NBZ. Enough room in there I might leave the tent home on a regular basis.

With my wife's omnipresent solar powered lights (I know, I know) we sit in the Zone playing cards or backgammon and enjoy eating meals without black flies in it.

As mentioned earlier, next to the canoe, best piece of equipment you can bring. Outstanding.
