Well I had it out for the first paddle - teenager in bow and 2 and 4 year olds mid-ship.

Great boat - HUGE with a tonne of room for tripping. However the consequence of that is there is some pretty severe oil-canning when empty. I'm sure it will be fine when full of gear, and the whole purpose of this boat is tripping so I am zero percent concerned about that. You pretty much have to expect it from a craft this big with no ribs or other supports.

Hmmm - I've never had a problem with oil canning in mine. These boats have a foam core which provides the rigidity of the ribs without destroying your knees.

It's possible you have a different layup than I do. Mine is an Expedition Kevlar.

Mine is made in 2003 so maybe that pre-dates the foam core. What year is yours?
60 lbs right on the button for weight, and Swift did confirm from the serial number that it is Kevlar.

Right around the same time. There were 2 kevlar layups available with the Expedition Kevlar being the heavier of the 2.

Swift was definitely using the foam core then and well before then. Other manufacturers use foam core too. Souris River is about the only manufacturer still using a rib style and while they don't state what the rib material is, it is likely a foam similar to other manufacturers.
