Hello! i have been doing whitewater for quite a while but want to get into Canadian Style paddling (flatwater boat). I am debating which manufacture is better. I am thinking H2O or Novacraft since they are closer to me. Thinking of prospector canoe, but debating about if I should by 15'4' or 16'4"...

CS canoeing makes use of a tandem canoes mass. Either of your candidates will work.. Alot of tandems work well for CS. Even Wenonahs . When heeled over the lack of rocker does not matter as the ends are out of the water.

Canadian Style from what I was taught was an outgrowth of Ontario camps in the 1930's. Taught as a backup in case there was a need to solo a tandem canoe ( like an injured paddler or odd number of paddlers),

Any tandem with a gentle turn of the bilge and a curved side will work well. Even Grummans though the seams hurt your knees.

Pick your canoe with tandem use in mind..When you are not soloing what sort of trips will you do? 16 feet is a minimal length for tripping for two. You can squoosh into shorter but its not fun.

Both Canoes are a good option, I have paddled both. My last purchase was an H20 16'6 in Carbon/ Innegra and couldn't be happier with it. Weight wise, it is not much more than a large size pack boat and paddles great solo. So far no issues, very solid quality and all are hand built by Jeff himself. No mass production at their small shop, just him and his son.

Thanks everyone for the help. I ordered my canoe today, and will get it in July. Excited for that!

I decided to get H2O since it is the closest manufacturer to my home (2.5 hour). Swift is too far for me (driving 8 hours, not fun), and they can't really manufacture that fast to give me in July. I had to wait longer if I ordered from Swift. I know Nova Craft is quite nice too, but I later decide go with H2O since I found Nova Craft is a bit wider, which I heard another canoe friend said he does not like it because it slows you down. But I think it's just personal preferences.
