Have been doing some research for hot weather gloves that protect the back of the hands and up to the first joining of the sun. Wind, waves, rapids and cold I wear paddle gloves. There are a lot of UV gloves out there- palmless, palmed, cut off fingers, fishing, quick-drying material, fisherman gloves, with sleeves, without sleeves, etc. etc. Most must be shipped from the US or Australia. Anyone have a favourite or two up here?

Once again, my annual warning for all ages: tanning is the same as putting your skin in the oven, not matter what colour your skin is. Cover up with UV resistant clothes, and use sunscreen! Thinksport is my fav.-no sunscreen smell, rubs in, can't even see it. But my oncologist tells me it is "clean" (non-toxic) and excellent protection.

I’m a big fan of sun gloves. My newest pair is from Outdoor Research.

For me gloves are like shoes or PFD’s, to be comfortable they have to fit my hands just right, not too tight, not too loose, not bunching up.

One son sunburns easily, and toasted the backs of his hand on a Florida trip. He has big hands and finding a pair of comfortable UV gloves was a challenge. There was an ample selection of fisherman’s gloves at a southern hunting and fishing shop and he found a pair that fit just right.
