I wouldn't use a product that isn't approved by the maker of your tent since it may potentially damage the fabric. Perhaps contact them for advice on what product(s) are best.

I have used that product on jackets and shoes with poor results. Never on camp gear though.

Have a read here. It is manufacture recommendations for seam sealing but you can take some knowledge away from it and apply it to other manufactures of tents. I know your looking to waterproof the fly so maybe this will help find a product that will work more effectively.

The only product that will bond permanently to silicone is silicone! For this reason we recommend using only silicone seam-sealing products.

Lots of YouTubers out there mixing silicone and mineral spirits to seal a tent. Would probably work well on silicone flies but I'm not sure about PU.

Before re waterproofing a tent floor and fly it's a good idea to know the fabric so that you can match the re waterproofing product to your tent material.

Some infor here re Waterproof Fabric Coatings 101: PU vs. PE vs. Silicone

I do this for seam sealing and it works great. However I spent a very wet and cold night after trying to use it to get a few more seasons out of a rain fly that was starting to wet out. I would not recommend.

I bought a gallon of waterproofing from Cdn Tire a few years ago. Painted every tarp and fly in the family, and a couple of coats on one tent floor. Seems to work decently. Also did a coat in the roof of a new but merely water-repellent screen house, but have yet to see how much it helped that.

For a fly and a tarp that have been stretched half way to @%^% and back, I am not sure how much it can help. The base fabric is stretched and then and has lots of micro holes. The fly we still use, but that tarp is done done done.
