I'm wondering if anyone has run this river or has any info on it. It dumps into the University upstream of Dennison falls.

Thanks in advance.

Too small and log choked to run, I've fished on it.

I wouild agree, a couple of times that I did the Dog I looked up Jimmy Cash and it didn't look like it would get enough flow unless you timed the spring runoff perfectly and even then lots of hazards/sweepers on the little bit I looked at.
But hey, I guess we've all seen creek boats go places no "water"craft should go or could float for that matter.

Well, thanks for both of the replies. I enjoy small, hard to get to floats and was hoping this would be a possibility. I paddled the Dog in '91 but don't remember going by the JK. A couple smaller rivers we've run in that area include the East Puk and the Cascade (now that one was HARD to get to). I guess there's an entire winter to mull it over.

Just saw your message. No, we never made it. If you go, keep me posted. I'm always interested in new routes.

I know of someone who ran it in late May this year the same week we were on the Puk. Look up Stewiestew on this forum. I saw some pictures of their trip. Appeared to be a lot of dragging for a bit of good running.

Hi. I ran it last spring with a friend. Trip report is posted in the latest online Nastagwan. It was hard work to get to the headwaters but worth it. Same elevation drop as the Dog over the same distance. 4 big drops to get around but lots of good rapids. We are planning on doing it again. Best description would be "Dog Light". Very high water would be challenging. Message me if you want more info.

You should do it. It's good to get people on these rivers otherwise no one will know when they are threatened.
