I have a group of 8 (4 canoes) that plan to paddle the Albany river from 599 bridge to the Misehkow
river in late summer 2019.
I have access to topo info, but am looking for more info on possible camping sites, rapids,
and portages.
Any help would be appreciated! - Thanks

I have some info I can share from my 2017 trip.

Is the email address showing on your post valid?

Richard, I have a couple of 2013 trip reports online - one details our trip down the Misehkow from Rockcliff Lake;

Paddling Wabakimi's Misehkow River

The other describes the continuation down the Albany from the mouth of the Misehkow to Petawanga Lake.

Going Down the Albany River - The Mouth of the Misehkow To Petawanga Lake

The second post includes a link to a comprehensive trip report from 2012 by Ken Kokanie. It used to be found at his website but the site has gone dead. Ken did give me the okay to host a copy of the report at my site. You can find the link to his report in the first bit of Down The Albany post where I note down maps used.

Ken's report will definitely get you going!

BTW - what happens when you hit the mouth of the Misehkow?

Ken's guide was something I was going to send you.

I also have a GPS track showing the campsites I used plus some excerpts from the Canoe Atlas of the Little North which has some addition information that compliments Ken's maps.

I'm also interested in what your plan is upon reaching the Misehkow as it's only about 5 or 6 days to get there from Hwy 599.

Thanks recped and true_north.
My e-mail is richardtraxler@yahoo.com.
Thanks for the connection to trip reports.
GPS track info would be great!
Excerpts from the Canoe Atlas of the Little North would be also be great.
We plan to fly out when we get to Misehkow.
We take our time paddling and like short paddle days.
We plan on an early September trip - I know that is late, but we like no bugs.

OK, I'll put some info together for you.

The Ken Kokanie guide is quite good, there were a couple of campsites that were not what I expected plus a couple that were better than indicated. That said I was a party of 1 so a small site that worked for me might not be so good for your group.

September should be nice, I was through in late July, water levels were quite low in 2017, if levels are normal this year you might have higher water.

Thanks a million! I will take a look at the materials, share with my gang, and probably have questions for you.
Yes, a party of 8 (8 tents!) is quite a foot print for a camp site. Sometimes we are so spread out that some have had trouble finding there tents after dark.

True_north & recped - I looked at the materials you suggested. Exactly what I was looking for. Ken’s report is great. The maps, portage, and campsite info that you sent recped is also exactly what I need. My gang will appreciate the help you both have done. Thanks again.

We (7 guys) finished (Sept 16) 599 bridge put in - 6 day paddle. Very low flow, good fishing, hard rains, portages impassable because of very dense tree fall over trails - we portaged along low water river shores. Pete Johnson (Pickle Lake Outposts) shuttle (in via road, out via float plane).

user0317 - Richard and his crew were picked up by floatplane at the mouth of the Misekhow River. They spent six days on the stretch of the Albany from the 599 bridge.

Richard - Rockcliff Lake is 100 kilometers up the Misekhow and is very close to the headwaters of the river.
