Just a little caveat. Fort Albany is a native reserve, Fort Albany 67, and thus is not allowing outsiders into town during the covid pandemic. A large part of the population have diabetes and are immune compromised. Native reserves in Ontario are being especially vigilant when it comes to allowing people in from outside. Community members who have flown out during the pandemic are not even allowed to return. Check with the band office. Both Fort Albany and Kashechewan, on the other river channel 6 kilometres away are enforcing strict security. At the best of times, even without the pandemic it is wise to seek permission from the band to enter their territory.

Makes you think though... what if you just... showed up, after 5 weeks of effective isolation?

I've looked at trips before that would take me through treaty lands. Generally they're quite welcoming to adventurers. I wonder now what would happen, if you just... showed up out of nowhere?

@NS_BEN Our travels back went quite smoothly! We arranged a flight through Air Creebec out of Fort Albany into Moosonee, and then took the Polar Express train to Cochrane.
