My fishing bud wants to put in up on the Sun Lake Rd. and take that river down to Terrace Bay. We see the river along the Katlinite sp. Rd.
What is the name of that River??? And does it go all the way down to Terrace Bay??
Is the fishing decent in that river???
How many days to float and fish??
Thanks for any help.

The most common trip starting from Sun Road South is the Steel River. You can run the river or lake system to get you down to Santoy Lake, which is around 20 k from Terrace Bay. Fishing is good on both sides, walleye and pike. There is another river which follows the Catlonite in it's lower reaches, in many places right beside the road, can't recall the name right now. I've never been interested in running it due to it's close proximity to the road, so can't comment on the fish.

Len, for checking out the geography, go to http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=48.88729,-86.91216&z=11&t=T
I works like Google but includes the topo map option. I also use the "Terrain" display when assessing paddling potential.

The river that you can actually see from the Catlonite is the Aguasabon, which is the river which flows out of the south end of Long Lake. Might be an interesting little run, looks like lots of fast water from the road.
