Just received notice from MNRF that basically from Henvy Inlet, Key, Pickerel and French River west of 69, all the way to the bay including the islands along the coast including all of the French River PP is closed until further notice. The fire is expected to take 30 days to get it under control and a incident command post will be set up in Britt. No timeline as to when it might open to boat traffic has been put forth.

Thanks for the notice and update.
So much for my French River canoe trip this August.
La Vérendrye perhaps but as it also has a fire ban, who knows about August.

I guess I picked a good year to stay home.. We had dry and now we are getting lots of rain..The Allagash is running too low to canoe( 200 fps) but by the time we get up that way things ought to be better.

So have hope and don't scuttle your plans.. We thought Bowron Lakes would be a no go last year but we did it in August instead of mid July.. The park had been closed in July.
