Kelso is back open again, it was OK'd on the 15th.
It is a great place to go practice and watch the Vultures in the mornings and evenings.

Quote:
We have had the Provincial Ministry of Health officials in this morning to test the Kelso Lake water and we have been given an all clear status. Our beach is listed as being open and safe for swimming at all points of posting on our sites as well as with the Ministry of Health."

This from Halton Conservation Quote
"Please note that Kelso Beach is closed for boating and swimming until further notice.
Kelso staff discovered a suspected algae bloom this morning at the beach and we are not sure at this time if there is a risk. In accordance with Provincial guidelines and as a precaution we are closing all water-based activities at Kelso until further notice. Kelso staff are working with public health officials for more information and to decide on whether it is necessary to remain closed. An update will be provided as soon as more information is available." unqote.

They should have enough water in the Hilton Falls reservoir to give it a flush if they need to, but they also need the water to keep the flow up in 16 Mile Creek through a slow release.
They had the same problem last year at this time.
