I'll do my own research here to see what people have said, but if you have the time and know the answer, I would appreciate if you can help out.

So after a couple of weeks of trying to organize an unorganizble group to go on a canoe trip, finally had to settle on a crowded lake, with only 230m or so of portaging. North Tea East it is.

Does anyone have any recommendations for campsites? We're leaving early this saturday, hopefully can be in the water by 9am. My guess is though that most campsites will be full from the night before. But if we can have a plan of attack, that would be awesome.

Also, does anyone know what the water temperature is like this time of the year? I've always gone camping in late April in Killarney and had been able to use lake water to keep our food cool and fresh. I'm guessing that's out of the question now.
