Looking for some paddle training this weekend and wondering if there are any route recommendations along the Magnetewan for a 30-50 km route with some rapids? Need to get some CIII practice in but I think we are too late in the season for that. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I would start at the Swiss house restaurant or ahmic lake resort, and take the river to wahwashkesh lake. Although this time of year the rapids are likely bolder feilds cause the water is too low. I've always found that section of the river to be allot of fun. It's an easy two or three days with lots of little Rapids to play in.

I would avoid the Mag because there is just no water up there right now. The Gull river at the Minden Wild Water Preserve is running (it is a trent feeder system) From the falls to Minden lake is very good class III, short but playing the rapids is a good workout. Jeff
