View topic - Obabika Parking?

Hello all, just wondering if I anybody here knows if this map is correct and current still. I would like to park at the south side of Pond lake, at the end of HWY 805, and do the full paddle of Obabika lake with a loop up to Diamond and back again, instead of going across lake Temagami. Is this still doable, or should I just start at Ferguson bay on L Temagami?

My guess is the ottertooth map master is not aware of any changes regarding parking situation. These maps are kept up-to-date. If you get no direct replies here Ottertooth forum could be a better board to place this question to.

While the former owners didn't like canoeists much (NO TRESPASSING! KEEP OUT!), Obabika Lake Lodge, located at the south end of the lake (at the end of the 805) is under new ownership and now offers secure parking for canoeists for $14/day. You can launch from their dock and skip the portaging. I just spoke with them this week, so this information is up-to-date.

Thanks for the responses guys. Canoeguitar, that sounds like something I'd be interested in for the peace of mind. Sucks that its a bit on the pricey end for parking,but at least its secure.
