:( 100% of sites now reservable online. Means the likelihood of getting a side anywhere in southern Ontario by jumping in the car, getting there by 11, and getting a site is likely nil.

At first thought, it's a dumb idea, but thinking about it more, they have a point. Relistically, the non-reservable sites at the more popular parks/times would fill up anyway, and outside of those dates and times, there's almost always something available.

A point of clarification though - you can still do first come, first served, in that you can still show up with no reservation, and assuming there are sites available, they will accommodate you.

I don't think this will affect me much personally, as there's really no parks I can get to (and that I want to get to) before all the non-reservable sites fill up, and realistically, I generally don't risk it for the more popular destinations. Killarney is a perfect example; it tends to fill up completely, and I'm not risking driving all the way down the road in after a 5 hour drive from Toronto, to have to drive all the way back out if it's full and find another park. So really, what is the point of those non-reservable sites there?

Agreed with southern Ontario though - at least for long weekends and the more popular destinations during July/August.

Their rationale looks pretty solid. seems like a good business decision
