Is there any way to gauge water levels on the French River? We want to make sure there is enough water to run Big Pine rapids. We have been able to access the current water level as a number (71), but don't no what that translates to in terms of running the rapids.

Planning a trip there next week. I called Hartley Bay and the guy there classified the water levels as "Medium". Not sure what that means, really, but maybe that will help you, relatively speaking.

There are online gauges that show the flow released from the dam(s) at Nippissing. Google "Wateroffice" and look at the past few days
