Funny.

Do you have a comment or two, about the Sea Wind?

The Sea Wind is a specialized canoe for expedition tripping. It belongs to a friend of mine who loaned it to me for the summer.

Owners of Sea Winds are often fanatical about the design. I like the decked canoe aspect. On big water it shines, low profile and with the rudder straight tracking. Without the rudder it has no directional stability. Two strokes and it starts to veer. I'd like it to have less rocker in the stern.

It can carry a big load, a full Duluth #4 fits in the 7' cockpit behind the seat, another one in front.

It weighs 65# yet with the integrated seat/yoke combination is surprisingly easy on portage, well balanced.

Pretty hefty price tag. $1000.00 deposit to get on the list., Final price around $4k depending on options.

With a regular canoe the paddler works the boat. A Sea Wind works the paddler. All you do is sit there with your feet on the the pedals and paddle, paddle, paddle.

Jason: Watch that diving into shallow water (first pic)! Could be dangerous

Most people who have canoed for any length of time would have at least one story to tell of coming upon a nude bather, or conversely, being come upon. Take it in stride, it's part of the backcountry experience.

Worth: Thank you for this good report and your pictures; it's appreciated.
