The Partridge is a spring run river about 1.45hrs NE of Peterborough, and just south of Bon Echo PP. After stumbling across an old WCA article dating back to 1990, my interest in this little river system was piqued. Plans were made, and in the spring of 2015 we finally got to run this wild and scenic ribbon of blue.

We put in on Skootamatta near Bible Island and portaged over to Partridge. There's a good ATV trail from the road down to the lake, but getting to the road required some bushwhacking (50m)... pretty sure it was private. There's an alternative route via Sheldrake Lake that would not cross any private land, but would be a longer portage 2400m vs 1200m.

We ran it 2 weeks after Martin ran it, I believe 2nd week of May 2015? See his post for more details and photos:

The water levels were already dropping and we resorted to bumping and grinding our way down many of the rapids. At those flows we only portaged twice, around the falls and the lower chute near Deerock. The portages are really bush trails with little evidence of frequent use.

I've finally done up a little trip report video. Check it out in the link below.

Looks like a fun trip. Like seeing some of the 'lost' crown land routes.
