Hi everyone, I've got a new trip report up over at All of Algonquin. It's part one of my recent weekend trip (and first ever visit) to some of the lakes around the Kiosk access point. I loved the area and can't wait to go back. I might wait until the end of bug season though. Drew https://allofalgonquin.com/2018/06/19/welcome-to-kiosk-the-mouse-lake-swarm/ |

we had a group do a few days around Kiosk. Never enough time.Hope to visit again. Thanks for your report. Brought back memories of spending the evening on the beach and sand bar. So EPIC. Definitely saw the namesake of the lake around the fire. |

Good report, look forward to the rest. I took the kids into the park last weekend (Stratton) and the bugs were crazy there as well. The tradeoff is beautiful weather; warm days cool nights, and not too busy. We do bring along a screened tarp though so we can at least eat our meals in peace. Also discovered a neat trick for the trip to the thunderhut. We brought along the biolite (twig stove) and stuffed some greens into it to generate smoke. After about 30 seconds the mosquitoes would disappear reducing the vulnerable feeling of dropping your drawers in the height of bug season! |

Thanks everyone. Rosseau, I’m kinda surprised it was only 29 ![]() Sbaille, which site were you on on Stratton? Also, that is a good trick for the t-box. I saw a pic of someone who hung a full mosquito net over theirs. |

We were on the site right next to the portage into St. Andrews. It had the best prevailing wind and large beach for the young kids. |
