I had the same thing happen to me last year... it's a little bit scary and exciting at the same time. Great video

defiantly scary and exciting. she had a calf that was curious and kept coming closer. I am sure glad I happened to have the camera running.

You can help the moose and any other visitors by making the encounter unpleasing.
Banging the canoe, throwing something, etc... anything to allow safe separation.

I hope your camera doesn't get you hurt in the future.

Not a finger wag... just looked very scary.

Yes throwing a rock would be much safer than backing away and giving it space.

When I paddled in the Yukon, the locals told us to be more afraid of encountering a moose than a bear. A bear, in most cases, is mainly interested in taking your food. A moose showing active interest in you wants to take your life.
