The Barlow lake canoe loop is a "lost" loop located in the west arm of lake Nipissing, southwest of St. Charles. My Grandfather used to paddle the route back in the late 50's, acting as a fishing guide for sportsman both local and foreign. Scouts also used to paddle this area frequently.

With the construction of several bush roads in the area, the route became obsolete as boats could be cached and many of the small lakes accessed much more easily.

I set out to retrace the route (or at least a very similar route) that my grandfather would have paddled back when he was a fishing guide. I filmed it and made a short video, which can be found below.

Overall a pretty fun route. I would recommend it if you're in the area and want a cool weekend adventure.
