Ok folks, we sure do love to get out but man are we a lazy bunch about posting the pictures afterwards.. Here is a trip report I did of the May long weekend trip Dunkin so generously invited me on.. The North Saskatchewan River. As luck would have it we both of use the exact same camera and Jim rented a HUGE 100-400mm lens so we could take close up shots of ourselves playing in the rapids (not to mention he gave me free reign to try out his other lenses on my camera). In the end we wound up with so many rich images it was almost impossible for me to choose which ones to include. Thanks a million Jim, you’ve proven once again… ya just cant beat Alberta hospitality! The North Saskatchewan River Enjoy! |

HI Monster, I'm in the middle of writing up my own page. (Including the picture of the nest you requested). I'll be happy if it turns out half as well as yours. Thanks you for posting. |

I did the second half of that trip to rocky mountain house and the rapids didn't look that big....although we did swim at devils elbow. take the middle, and NOT the right bank. We're doing this trip this coming labour day -- does anyone know what the water levels are like? Will it be a problem? |

From the mountain views, ohhh-haa hh, to the nature, look-at-that, to the big water yee-hawws, you westeners know how to pack in alot great times into three days. I didn't even see any fireworks on Victoria Day Weekend. Your pictures are better anyway! |

now we're homesick ( thanks alot you . . you BIG cookie) quite the dapper lookin guy too I must say, what's with the all Black-thing, are you an Architect or something? I think someone has erred somewhere's, all the action (some to be avoided) is along the left banks, like those 'Fisher' brothers and as for this: Quote: man are we a lazy bunch about posting the pictures afterwards.
that's cuz to stop and take nize pitchers is . . . well you know- posin' but I'm glad y'all did. |

hahaa... it is posin in a way, but I'm glad Jim rented that huge lens… I noticed the all black thing when I saw the pics too, wasn’t a plan so... either I was a bit cold or I fancy myself a bad guy |

Thought I'd add my two cents worth on this trip. Glad Monster could make a fourth so we could do the trip. We had a great time, the weather was quite good, only a bit of light rain on Saturday. Had lotsa fun playing with that 100-400mm lens I rented (as well as playing in the rapids), sure does bring the action up close. With a bit more practice with it shots will get even better. Here is a link to my image hosting site with some pictures of the trip. North Saskatchewan May 2006 The one shot of Monster and me in the same boat you might want to note the sides we are paddling on, never even thought about it until I was doing some processing. |

The covered Hellman is mine, the other I rented for Monster and Ken at the U of C but I understand MEC has them as well. |
