The Cree was in high water - an excellent time to shoot this fabulous river. Weather was iffy, but that's the summer of '09. In our 12-person brigade was Capt. Norm Baker, Thor Heyerdahl's first mate, navigator and radioman on RA (1969) and RA-II (1970), the reed boat floats across the Atlantic. One of the world's great living adventurers and explorers, this is Norm's second trip to northern Saskatchewan with us to shoot whitewater and he absolutely loves it. This report goes out to my 260 member strong Voyageur List, my invitation list to join my cost-sharing expeditions into northern Sask. each summer. Here's the photo report: www.jasonschoonover.com/cree.htm

Yep, not often I get a photo op in someone else's trip report!!

My handsome mug should be easily recognizable! Son Colin was sitting mid ship fighting a pickerel and good buddy Dave sitting bow!

We did have an ample supply of tasty fillets!

Thanks for the report Jason, I enjoyed reading through it and have passed it along to the group that preceded you down the river.

Cheers,
Bryan

Glad to seee you had a good time.
I was on the upper Clearwater at about the same time (Koop lake to Fort McMurray 27 June to July 18), basically it's the next drainage west of the William. The water levels were at or very near flood levels farther west. Which made the upper end a lot of fun and the lower end really really big. A trip report is coming, the first edition got ate in a computer melt down.
