Coastal Routes.

Caution.
Those of us with a background in lake and river paddling, even those comfortable in big water, might reflect on whether we possess the knowledge, equipment and skills necessary to deal with the very different hazards associated with coastal paddling. From what I've read, every responsible paddler carries a VHF radio and is well versed in its operation.

Reading these old posts brings me back to my trips in 2001 when I paddled the NB coast from the Quebec/ NB border down to the NB/ NS border and then the Bay of Fundy from Saint Andrews up to Moncton. The plan was a coastal paddling guidebook but many of my notes were lost when my old laptop suddenly crashed a few years back.
Might be time to look at taking on this project once again soon.
Plus side is it gives me an excuse to head back east (from Nova Scotia, currently in Thunder Bay Ontario) to paddle that beautiful cost again and spend time with family and friends.

Cheers...Joe O'

Hope that you can find time from all that paddling, and making a living, to post trip reports at your site (in which case please let me know) or here.
Yours in paddling, Allan

Hi Alan,
Well, I may have the time to get caught up on some writing this winter. I'm now working from home (building paddles for a living) and I hope to use some of my time over the winter to do a lot of writing for the website, trip reports and various things. Currently writing up an 8 day trip on Lake Superior right now but will try and do some east coast stuff in the coming weeks too.
I'll keep you posted.

Cheers...Joe O'
