Tanya My wife Carol and I were headed for the Big Salmon and Yukon Rivers last summer . When we got to Whitehorse The outfitter advised us that due to extreamely high water levels the Big Salmon was very dangerous because of log jams and sweepers . Aparently a canoest had drown in a log pile a couple of weeks earlier and 2 different outfitters had lost canoes . They recommended the Teslin River and we took their advice . At normal levels I'm sure that the Big Salmon would be a good choice but we were not disapointed by the Teslin . Beautiful scenary and lots of history and wildlife . The Teslin also allows you to see what we thought was one of the highlites of the trip which is Hootalinqua and Evelyn Island with its old Paddle wheeler . Feel free to ask if you have any questions . Scouter Joe
