Minnesota Route Information

MN Routes outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness are described in the posts
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39247
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39246

The remainder of this post deals with BWCAW Routes.

CCR's Route information for the BWCAW is highly structured and so the only reasonable place to post the following BWCAW Information blurb is here.

BWCAW. Information.
Entry points, permits, etc.
Ed note: The term "Entry point", more formally "Entrance", is not to be taken literally: it is not generally the put-in point (where the boat gets wet).

Sorting Routes within the BWCAW.
Given the large number of Route descriptions available, the only reasonable way to file them is by entry point. And given the large number of entry points, a reasonable scheme for listing them is required.
To my mind, that scheme should be chosen so that entry points near each other geographically appear near each other in the list, and so a purely alphabetical sort of entry points is out of the question. A purely numerical sort (largely achieved at bwca.com) is also unsatisfactory to me.
I have chosen the scheme used by Beymer and Dzierak in their books listed above, namely a first sort according to access road, followed by a second sort by geographical location. Here is the result:

Western BWCAW
Echo Trail (South) and MN Hwy 1-169
Group 1/4 of entry points, specifically numbers 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9.
Routes are posted at
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39254
Echo Trail (North)
Group 2/4 of entry points, specifically numbers 12, 14, 16, 19, 20, 77, 22-23.
Routes are posted at
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39253
Fernberg Road
Group 3/4 of entry points, specifically numbers 24, 25, 26, 27-28, 29, 30, 31.
Routes are posted at
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39252
MN Hwy 1
Group 4/4 of entry points, specifically numbers 32, 33, 84, 75, 67, 34, 35.
Routes are posted at
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39251

Eastern BWCAW
Sawbill Trail
Group 1/3 of entry points, specifically numbers 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41.
Routes are posted at
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39250
Gunflint Trail (West)
Group 2/3 of entry points, specifically numbers 43, 44, 45, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 54, 55.
Routes are posted at
http://www.myccr.com/phpbbforum/viewtop ... 57&t=39249
Gunflint Trail (East) and Arrowhead Trail
Group 3/3 of entry points, specifically numbers 80, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 64, 66, 68, 69, 70.
Routes are posted at
