I left-click on the thumbnail.
I get the full-scale image plus lots of surrounding junk.

I right-click on the full-scale image.
I get the following options:
Bookmark This Link
Copy Link Location
View Image
Copy Image
Copy Image Location
Save Image As
Send Image
Set As Desktop Background
View Image Info

I left-click on the last of these.
Up pops a window giving, among other things, the "Location" as (in this case)
http://gallery.myccr.com/albums/userpic ... 210043.jpg

I copy that url and Img it

Image

We're almost there.
That works, except that the original was 800 by 600, larger than what came out.

Well, that's a start. You've hotlinked the thumbnail.

When you are on the page that shows the thumbnail, you click on it to get the full-size photo, which comes up in a separate window.

Right-click on that image in the separate window and the list should come up again. Click on "view image info". The first line should be "Location" and be a url ending in .jpg:

http://gallery.myccr.com/albums/userpic ... 210043.jpg

That's the url that you copy and paste into your post in the forum.

You can then either:

--highlight it again and click on the "Img" box in the reply box

or

--manually add the img tags before and after it.

Thanks Barbara.

I thought that I had done exactly that.

For some reason though, I didn't get the 800 by 600 display but rather something smaller.
Here's what I got:

You're hotlinking the thumbnails.

What you want is to hotlink the full-size photos.

When you are on your Gallery page, click on the thumbnail. That will bring up the full-size photo in a separate window. Make sure you click on that photo to get the url for it.

Thumbnail location:
http://gallery.myccr.com/displayimage.p ... at=0&pos=0

Click on that thumbnail, and the full-size photo will appear in a separate window. Click directly on that photo and get this url from it:

http://gallery.myccr.com/albums/userpic ... 210043.jpg

that's the url you want for hotlinking.

Hi Barbara,
I've been told that my username is BORINGGGGG. And it is.
But what would happen if I changed it? Would all my old posts keep the old name?

All your posts would show the new username.

What I'm not sure about (and this is embarrassing to admit) is if you can do that on your own, or if I have to do it for you.

Give it a try, and if it doesn't work, let me know.

Barbara,
On my User Control Panel I can change lots of things but not my username.
I think that I should be GHOSLO
GHO, pronounced GO as in Golden Horseshoe Orienteering
and SLO, pronounced slow, as in what I am.

I was thinking there was somewhere to change a username, but really couldn't remember at all.

I know that username...from where?

Presto-chango....how's that?

I am wondering how to refine my search when looking for a specific name such as island lake, blue lake, lost lake etc. It always seems to give me all of the post that have both names included in the post but not together. For instance Island lake would give me post about people staying on an island on any lake.

I've found quote marks to be essential. Searching for "island" or "lake" would be a killer waste of time.

Try searching for "island lake".

You can also choose a forum to search in, for example "Ontario Discussion & Resources" or "Ontario Trip Reports".

Hope that helps.
