I'm confused...

... we’ve developed an all natural tick repellent that is over 97.5% effective.
Please note, Our outdoor spray is a registered cosmetic product, meant to enhance your enjoyment of the time you spend outdoors. It is refreshing, made with safe, skin-nourishing ingredients, and smells great. Our outdoor spray is not a registered insect repellent and we do not support claims to that effect.

It seems to me that they are 100% claiming it is a repellant (albeit an arachnid repellent rather than an insect repellent). Too bad that they don't reveal what's in it, other than mentioning essential oils and making a pretty sketchy claim about the health benefits of these extracts.

We are in the midst of registering our tick repellent with Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency. We hope to make this valuable, innovative product available to the public in the coming year.

I think the "Cosmetic" product is the original lemongrass product. This is from their Facebook page:

We’ve had an overwhelming response to our latest interview on the Weather Network, and we wanted to reiterate an important clarification.

We currently sell an outdoor spray which was one of the original formulas developed by our founder, Lisa Ali Learning. After her sons became very ill due to Lyme disease, Lisa developed the sprays in an effort to come up with a safe but effective product to help fend off future tick bites. As we’ve repeatedly stated here, in interviews and on our website homepage and FAQ sections, when tested the original lemongrass spray proved to be up to 85% effective - missing the Health Canada threshold of 95% or more. SO, we went back to the drawing board and with the help of our brilliant team of researchers at Acadia we’ve been able to improve upon the original formulations to produce an all natural tick repellent that is over 97% effective. This highly effective formula is the one we are registering with federal pesticide authorities, and won’t be available for sale until that process is completed (we anticipate that happening in 2021).

Our lemongrass outdoor is registered with Health Canada as a refreshing, skin nourishing cosmetic spray, meant to enhance your enjoyment of the outdoors. It is not a registered insect repellent. If this clarification has caused you any concerns or raised further questions, please feel free to contact us directly via our FB inbox or through email at info@atlantick.ca.
