I had the opportunity to take a Sundowner 17' out solo for a good long paddle, in short-fetch winds to 25+/- knots, and quite liked it. I don't have access to the Clipper Jensen WWII 18'6" but as I narrow down candidates, it stays on the list. I'd consider ordering a new one if I knew the hull shape is somewhat similiar. I like the bite of the chines on the Sundowner when heeled, wish they were a bit higher on the hull, but still quite good for my paddling needs. Would anybody be able to share their experience with both? or either? Thank-you for any help you could provide. Daniel

I did Brian, I started it. I found the Sundowner controllable, and actually paddled quite nicely Canadian style. The trick was finding the sweet spot. So my question again... if you have paddled and seen both, are they similiar? Different? The Sundowner 17 has a quite flat-bottom, and tight-radiused chines - boxy towards the middle. I'm wondering if the WWII has more of a shallow-curve marathon-styled hull, and what the chines are like? The other Wenonah models are unfamiliar and not available to me, so I can't compare side-by-side.

Both are made by Wenonah so can you check their website, check with a Wenonah reseller, contact Wenonah?

My apologies Brian. I didn't realize that the MNii and the (Clipper) WWii were the same beast, and built from the same original Gene Jensen plug. I also didn't understand the connection you made in the other thread that I started. That really helps me with my decision. As much as I wish to be able to build my own - I don't have the space. I'll call both Western Canoe and Kayak, and Hellman this coming week to see what my options are before ordering. Thank-you. Daniel
