That might very well be something everyone's already doing.

Couscous is great if instead of water or water with bouillon, soup is used. Simply prepare an instant lentil, black bean, split pea soup and then add it to the couscous and let it sit covered. The plus side of having approx. 1/3 bean/pea with 2/3 wheat is that you get a full protein. Ratio of couscous to soup is left as an exercise although it's pretty darn hard to miss it. Start with less couscous and add some if it turns out too liquid after a few minutes. Works nicely also with 'Israeli' couscous if you cook it for about 8-10 minutes with one part couscous to 3 parts water and throw in a portion of instant soup.

For my couscous recipe, I like to use instant French onion soup and add a bit of sherry and some Parmesan cheese- delicious.
Cheers,
Jeff

a handful of Instant couscous
a handfull of dried mixed veggies (Onions, green and red peppers, cabbage and mushrooms)-----rehydrate before adding
half a handful of TVP- rehydrate before adding
and a package of your soup mix of choice
Lipton Cup-o-soup Garden Tomato is great!
But Lipton Chicken Noodle works very well also!
