Hi,
Has anyone had any luck with preserving avocados for use on trip, 2-3 weeks in? I read of the posts from 2006 with no luck in dehydrating due to the oil... anyone try anything else?
I've got a great recipee for Chocolate-Bananna pudding as follows, but am trying to figure how to take this for when I really need the energy- 3weeks in. I'm going to try mixing up a batch and putting it on the jelly roll trays of the dehydrator.... the following is good for 2 small sized servings or 1 large serving, but is easy to increase for bigger batches

1 avocado
1 bananna
2tbsp honey (liquid or melt it on heat)
2 tbsp cocoa

Mash all together really well. Chilling is not necessary, as it is already set.

Avocados and chocolate pudding don't seem like they would taste good together. Have you had this recipe before? As far as avocados go, try buying the firm ones that haven't ripened yet. If you keep them cool, they should be able to last for 2-3 weeks. I usually put my avocados in the fridge at home and they last for weeks.
