View topic - LeBaron Stove?

I am trying to find the stove on the LeBaron website but can't seem to find it...Does anyone have any info on this stove and the telescopic pipes that go with it? Thanks!

Hi Steve,
I bought that stove last year for my 8 x 10 prospector tent. It's a perfect fit. Mind you it's not one you would want to pack up and travel with.

I have one that I use in a 10x12 wall tent. Keeps it reasonably warm. I added 2 more substantial legs for it to sit on and a removable side shelf with readi-rod through the stove body and an adjustable support rod to hold it up safely.
All this works well , but of course adds to the weight. Not something to haul on a toboggan.

Have used one of these stoves and pipe sets for over 10 years now in a 10 x 14' prospector tent. One thing to be aware of is that the pipe crimps are backwrds for safe operation. If you use the set on the stove from the 5" end of the pipe , creoste can run down the outside of the pipes. I use a 5" to 4" reducer above the adjustable elbow which is on the stove. This allows the pipe to be reveresed and the crimps then correctly allow any creosote to run down inside the pipe into the stove. Below is a shot of the stove in action with the setup as described.

Good point Smokey.
If you do it the other way the creosote runs out onto the top of the stove from the pipe joints. It could catch fire if enough accumulates, but more likely it will drive you out of the tent as it dries out and decomposes producing acrid, eye burning, acidic fumes.

And if you use the stove a lot, you might want to keep an eye on the galvanized elbow, which can harden and deteriorate with time. I have been in the habit of replacing the one I have after every few seasons of use.

I think this was discussed here on CCR in the winter camping section a few years ago.
