Thought folks here might be interested in this recently published book. It's a nice mix of paddling/adventure type stories and more investigative environmental journalism.

Superior is an awesome, albeit intimidating lake to paddle. I've done 4 trips on the north shore. Both 2010 & 2011 were solo kayak trips - Superior is not well suited for long, solo canoe travel, though you can certainly do it if you've got the time. It was a joy to experience some of the campsites and locations that I'd dreamt about since watching (& re-watching) Bill Mason's Waterwalker and Path of the Paddle films. I plan to return in the next few years.
