Serious questions only, please.

Strath and wotrock will now proceed to the detention room, where they will each write up a trip report, illustrated with photos, to share with the rest of the class.

That's what I was hoping for, that the screenshots would help more than just words.

And I get to play around, practicing doing screenshots, editing them, learning the features of the forum, etc.

:D

No, it's all the same system...the addition of colour to a username is to denote administrator or moderator, and it's not something one can apply through their UCP.

Got another one.

Big surprise right ? ....... You probably won't even need to break a sweat for this one.

 The old grey matter must be losing mass cause I can't for the life of me remember my original username here from w-a-y back in the day.

? is, where do I find the list of "Golden Oldies" so I can check that out?

Over to you Teach !!

Ok, while Kom is off looking for himself, I thought I might take a minute to address a common issue, but one that seems to have a bit of misunderstanding surrounding it.

In the User Control Panel, there is a spot to change the email address associated with your CCR account. Although it looks like you can do that without consequence, the reality is that it will deactivate your account.

There's nothing new about this, and it is a basic security feature of the software.

What happens when the email address is changed in the UCP is twofold:

1.) the account is deactivated.

2.) an automated email is sent to the Admin, advising them of the activity on that profile.

The Admin then need to update/confirm the email address and reactivate the account.

If this isn't done, the account remains in limbo. This is what has happened in the past. Some folks have re-registered under other usernames, and in doing so, ended up with an inactive account. Their posts are not "lost" though.

This brings about another item....the Global Announcement.

When trying to advise the members of the need to contact us to change their email addresses for them, we posted a Global Announcement about it. This announcement appeared at the top of each forum page, and a link to it appeared in the members' User Control Panels.

When the UCP is first opened, and there are no announcements, this is what it looks like:

I've now changed the announcement to a Global, and this is what you will see now when you open your UCP:

That's a link to the announcement....clicking on it will take you to the forum where you can read it.
