A friend of mine, Ruth Fletcher, just released her new book:
The Puckasaw Diaries.
http://thepuckasawdiaries.blogspot.caRuth has spent several years researching her family history and especially the 14 years that her father, uncle and grandparents spent at Puckasaw (Pukaskwa) Depot.
Puckasaw (Pukaskwa) Depot is at the mouth of the Pukaskwa River in Pukaskwa National Park, on the east shore of Lake Superior.
Ruth's grandfather worked for Spanish River Pulp and Paper and got a job offer to work at the Depot in 1921. Members of the Fletcher family lived there, on and off, until 1935.
Anyone who has paddled the Pukaskwa River or along the shore of Lake Superior from Hattie Cove to the Michipicoten River will learn lots of things about the shore of eastern Lake Superior.
